Reflexology is a gentle natural healing therapy especially recommended for anyone who finds it difficult to relax. Reflexology stimulates the body's own healing system and is said to assist the body to heal itself whilst also complementing other types of health care.
Age is no barrier and reflexology is beneficial for all age groups - from the very young to the not so young.
A reflexologist uses the reflex points in the soles, sides and upper portions of the feet, which correspond to every area and organ of the body. Working these reflex points promotes deep relaxation, allowing the body and mind to rest and return to a state of balance and bliss.
Treatments last for around 1 hour and will require a free additional short consultation, prior to the treatment commencing.
Aromatherapy is a well known massage/relaxation therapy and you'll see it advertised in many beauty salons. The aromatherapy I offer, as well as being very beautiful, is also designed to be therapeutic.
When used in this way, aromatherapy may significantly reduce the symptoms of various ailments including: muscle tension, stress and anxiety, insomnia, depression, headaches, skin disorders and sinus pain. Aromatherapy is known to support the immune system, to increase energy levels, to promote relaxation and has recognized benefits for many other health problems.
Aromatherapy oils come from, natural "essential" oils, extracted from a wide variety of plants, flowers, fruits, leaves and trees. These are blended into a bulk carrier oil and mixed to produce a known outcome or a set response and then used as the medium for a relaxing body massage.
Luxury Massage - The Haven Technique
This is a massage treatment with a difference and some customers have called it the world's greatest massage. I just think its a bit of luxury in an otherwise harsh world.
It's special because it uses techniques that you may not be used to and most people agree that it is an amazing form of bodywork that leaves you feeling wonderful. Why is this different?
Most massage targets specific muscles and uses deep strokes into tissue to get a response. The Haven massage is trying to form a connection between muscle groups, to integrate body, mind and spirit, through touch, into a more harmonious whole person.
Coverings are placed to permit long flowing strokes along the whole body, from head to toe, that are designed to connect one part of the body with another.
There is a choice of contact mediums. I can use Decleor aromatherapy creams, designed to visibly improve the skin's radiance while at the same time creating a unique sensory experience. Or, I can use just pure silicone, which gives you the most gliding massage you will ever experience, and is my own personal favourite.
This massage uses special relaxation techniques and incorporates integrative massage movements that produce an emotional healing as well as a physical one. If you think this massage is for you then give yourself this extra special treat.
Spinal Touch for Back Problems
Don't let back problems ruin your holiday. Get emergency treatment during your stay at no extra cost than the price of a normal treatment. Spinal Touch provides a beneficial treatment for back, shoulders, lumbar, pelvis and neck problems.
A session or two of Spinal Touch will transform the way you stand and alter the way you move around, or perform duties. Ask anybody who's tried it!
Spinal Touch is a powerful, unique and very effective light touch technique, for assessing and treating postural distortion and subsequent pain. The way to reverse increasing strain and distortion in the body is to encourage the muscles to relax and to rest. A relaxed muscle allows the body to return to its normal posture and a rested muscle allows all of the toxins that accumulated during the contraction phase to be released into the system for disposal.
When this happens, a body returns to balance and pain subsides or becomes insignificant as the body heals itself.
Healing Treatments - Hands On
Hands-on healing is a non-invasive energy therapy technique where the healer offers themselves as a channel for subtle natural energies to be directed to the person receiving the healing.
You will normally be lying face up on a treatment table, however, some people prefer to sit in a chair, the choice is yours. Both are equally effective positions to receive healing. After a short consultation, a typical treatment session will last about 45 minutes.
What can healing be used for? There are no restrictions on what you can treat with energy healing. The body is hard wired to heal itself whenever the brain sees there is a problem. The brain is it's own pharmacy and produces healing chemicals. Chemical reactions either need energy from outside or produce energy in the reaction. Either way, there is an exchange of energy.
What will I feel? Commonly a patient will feel a variety of sensations, such as, heat, tingling, throbbing, pulses, cold, floating and some even feel the energy transfer. Some will feel nothing at all. Perhaps the most important feeling of all is one of relaxation and connection with the self.
Thermal Auricular Therapy
What are the benefits of Thermal Auricular Therapy? Ear candling is a very gentle, beneficial, non-invasive, pleasant, relaxing, therapeutic and painless therapy which calms the mind and soothes the head and ears. It balances the emotions and improves your general health and wellbeing.

My message to you is this: If you are on holiday, what better time to think about unwinding fully and undoing some of the wear and tear of a years worth of home life and work life. You may be a regular participant in some of these treatments at home, in which case, this is a good opportunity to continue your palliative treatments and to continue the health benefits of this strategy.
If you've never tried these treatments, now is definitely the time to spoil yourself and see how the other half live. If you are staying in any of the towns and villages on the list below this article, you are well within a 2-40 minute drive of The Haven Healing Centre, and I'd be delighted to see you.
Please call Phil Chave on 01934 740275 to make an appointment or to talk about a treatment plan structured around your stay.

Before the end of the week, her entire family had been, including her husband, three children and their grandparents. They didn't all want the same thing of course, which is why we offer a range of therapies and treatments at The Haven Healing Centre, but it was a wonderful and comical thing to see them all one by one. Please book in advance and then choose the treatment you would like when you arrive.
