Counselling - Toward a Better Life

Group Counselling
        Single Counselling
                Couple Counselling
                        Children Counselling

Help is at hand in a safe, structured and caring setting
The Haven Healing Centre counselling service offers a confidential, professional service to all members of the public, adults and children. Talking and being heard Trying to find a counsellor you can feel comfortable with can be quite a challenge, and waiting for a GP referral can take months. Usually, by the time you have made the decision, or the decision has been made for you, you want to speak to someone immediately, not wait until the problem escalates to a critical level.

Private and corporate counselling service
Appointments are available as soon as you need them and at a time to suit you. Many employers now see the counselling approach as beneficial to the workforce and offer sessions as part of your work program, to cover areas of need that interfere with working performance. Please ask your Human Resources Department or Occupational Nurse to contact me at .

Sometimes we deal with stressful or traumatic events by taking medication or drugs, by drinking, striking out, turning inward and hurting ourselves, alienating our family and friends, shouting, becoming angry, depressed, anti-social or just plain sad. Working together. Discover who you are. Discover your potential Sometimes, exploring feelings or talking to an independent person can be very helpful, especially when that person is trained to listen in a respectful, caring and confidential way.

Move forward and leave the worries behind you
The Haven Counselling Service offers a confidential, professional service from short term personal, social, family or academic problems and worries to more complex problems. The Haven promise is to listen carefully to you in a supportive, confidential, caring and empowering environment to help you pursue your own understanding of what is happening to you and to seek out your own healing ways forward.

There are going to be many who find that several of these things are going on at the same time and to varying degrees. This is when it usually dawns on you exactly what it is you've been coping with for however long. Perhaps now is the time to do something about it and make the appointment.

I'm a man. I don't do counselling. Can you help me?
Counselling provides a supportive, confidential, caring and empowering environment Absolutely! Many men aren't good at talking to others about what's going on in their lives. Men can often feel embarassed, or stupid or unconvinced. Men often think counselling is not for them because it means they have to bear their soul and talk about things they are uncomfortable discussing. Counselling will not leave you open to ridicule or any the lesser of a man. Quite the contrary. Talk therapy can help you become the man you want to be.

I don't live anywhere near you; Can I still work with you?
Yes, indeed, we can talk on the phone or use email.

A single payment of £40.00 GBP will buy you two email question/answer counselling letters or one 60 minute (or 2x30min, or 3x20min) telephone sessions. Upon receipt of payment, I will call you at a time convenient to you, daytime or evening (UK mainland only). This means you don't have to worry about the call charge. Even so, many phone packages now have free evening and weekend calls, and if you want too, you can call me at a set time if you need to be at a specific, private location to make the call, or to talk freely. If this applies to you, there will be no additional charges for your session.
Phil, how would you characterize your style of counselling?
I'm afraid I don't have a particular "style" of counselling to which I adhere. Counselling for Children. Talking and being heard is extremely healing I refuse to be persuaded that one "type" of counselling is better than another. Instead I have particular focus areas. Focus areas that apply, whatever the circumstance, whatever the subject and whatever the desired outcome. To facilitate this, I focus on TRUST, COMFORT IN SHARING, LISTENING, UNDERSTANDING, OPENNESS, CONNECTION, ACCEPTANCE and ALIGNMENT. All of these together, regardless of the subject matter, encourage a willingness to continue.

My final message to you is this: Sometimes life just gets too much! Sometimes other people let us down, trick us, upset us, steal from us, cheat on us or even bully us into submission. Sometimes we feel like the whole world is against us and that is when we feel at our lowest. What happens then? The one person you thought you could talk to, isn't interested, doesn't want to get involved, or is afraid that your negativity will rub off on them. That's when you find out who you're real friends are.

I don't just provide a listening service; If I can help in a practical way, with suggestions or ideas, then I try to help you reach useful conclusions. Don't wait until it gets worse. Don't wait for depression to set in. The sooner you start talking to someone who is listening, the sooner you are likely to see a way through the pain and the hurt. If you live in any of the towns and villages on the left of this article, you are well within a 2-40 minute drive of The Haven Healing Centre, and I'd be delighted to see you.

Please call Phil Chave on 01761 462722 to make your appointment or to talk about a treatment plan structured around your needs.

Don't wait. Make your appointment today. You'll be glad you did!

Best Wishes from Phil
P.S. So much physical and emotional pain and suffering come from the fact that we can't set aside the hurt inside. You can come to The Haven, or we can talk on the phone. Why not set up an appointment right now? Talking is stress free, chemical free and naturally soothing. Talking does not interfere with your current medication or health plan. If coming to The Haven Healing Centre is impossible because of distance, let's talk on the phone. Make your appointment by purchasing your telephone time below. Remember, I call you!
